Exhibition : Mushrooms in contemporary art

Atelier 34zéro Muzeum invites you to the opening of the exhibition Mushrooms in Contemporary Art. Located at the border between reality and fiction, the image of the mushroom refers to magical, mystical worlds, populated by strange beings and walkers trapped in these universes.
Our interest in this subject stems from the history of our exhibition space, which promotes sculpture and three-dimensional art. During its nearly forty years of existence, Atelier 340 Muzeum / Atelier 34zero Muzeum has always paid particular attention to the relationship between artists and matter, how it influences the concept, how it participates in the elaboration of the work, or how it is "taken hostage" by the artists' will. In this spirit, this international and collective exhibition will present both works and reproductions of works of art on 20m² tarpaulins, installed in our exhibition halls and in our cultural park.
On this occasion, you will be able to discover, both in our cultural park and inside our buildings in the main hall, the works of: Michael Aerts (BE), John Casey (US), Christophe Gilland (CZ), Matt Gordon (US), Marion Peck (PH), Jone Reaño Sibugan (PH), Andrzej Urbanowicz (PL) and Michel Walgraeve (BE).
Atelier 34zero Muzeum
Atelier 34zero Muzeum is an independent art centre, created in 2014. Born from the ashes of the Atelier 340 Muzeum, its main mission is the study and promotion of sculpture and three-dimensional art in Belgium and abroad.
Atelier 34zero Muzeum organises 3 to 4 exhibitions a year in its own spaces as well as several events extra muros. Three types of exhibitions are organised: thematic, confrontational or comparative, and personal (retrospectives).
These are accompanied by quality publications; quadrilingual and richly illustrated catalogues, and postcards.
Finnisage artistieke residentie

De expo toont het werk van 4 jonge kunstenaars: Sixtine Jacquart, Emily Kelly, Juan Pablo Plazas, Anatole Lachassagne, na een artistieke residentie hier in het Muzeum.
Het Atelier 34zero Muzeum is steeds betrokken bij het onderzoek en de promotie van beeldende kunst met een accent op sculptuur en driedimensionale werken. Met de programmatie van vier residenties kunnen artiesten de intellectuele mogelijkheden van de eigen artistieke praktijk verkennen.
Deze zomer had het Atelier 34zero Muzeum het genoegen om drie plastische kunstenaars en één graficus te mogen ontvangen. Gedurende twee maanden stonden de ruimtes ter beschikking en dit met de steun van Cjm ( Cultuur, Jeugd en Media).

Tentoonstelling : Paddenstoelen in de hedendaagse kunst

Atelier 34zéro Muzeum nodigt u uit voor de opening van de tentoonstelling Paddenstoelen in de hedendaagse kunst. Gelegen op de grens tussen realiteit en fictie, verwijst het beeld van de paddestoel naar magische, mystieke werelden, bevolkt door vreemde wezens en wandelaars die gevangen zitten in deze universums.
Onze belangstelling voor dit onderwerp vloeit voort uit de geschiedenis van onze tentoonstellingsruimte, die beeldhouwkunst en driedimensionale kunst promoot. Atelier 340 Muzeum / Atelier 34zero Muzeum heeft in zijn bijna veertigjarig bestaan altijd bijzondere aandacht besteed aan de relatie tussen kunstenaar en materie, hoe deze relatie het concept beïnvloedt, hoe dit de uitwerking van het werk beïnvloed, of hoe de materie "gegijzeld" wordt door de wil van de kunstenaars. In deze geest zal deze internationale en collectieve tentoonstelling zowel originele werken als reproducties van kunstwerken presenteren op 20 m² dekzeilen, geïnstalleerd in onze tentoonstellingszalen en in ons cultureel park.
Bij deze gelegenheid kunt u zowel in ons cultuureel park als binnen in de grote zaal de werken van volgende kunstenaars ontdekken: Michael Aerts (BE), John Casey (VS), Christophe Gilland (CZ), Matt Gordon (VS), Marion Peck (PH), Jone Reaño Sibugan (PH), Andrzej Urbanowicz (PL) en Michel Walgraeve (BE).
